WCS Hosts Employability Networking Breakfast

West College Scotland was delighted to host an Employability Networking Breakfast at the Colleges Paisley campus organised by Renfrewshire Local Employability Partnership. The morning saw around 50 delegates including, local training providers and Employabity advisors enjoy breakfast rolls and tea and coffee provided by the College professional Cookery students before hearing about the range of programmes available to those living in Renfrewshire.

School Pupils Get a Flavour for Professional Cookery

Inspired by International Chefs Day that highlights the importance of raising knowledge and culinary skills to the next generation of chefs, West college Scotland in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce welcomed 21 schools from across the local regions to its campuses in Clydebank, Paisley and Greenock last week.

Cameron is a cut above the rest!

HNC Hairdressing graduate, Cameron Knox scooped not one but two top recognitions at The Salon Awards 2022 last week. The prestigious awards which highlight the talents and expertise of hair stylists and salons across the UK were presented in a glittering ceremony in London attended by over 700 hair professionals.

Caring for our community this Christmas

Our Clydebank & Greenock Hairdressing and Beauty department are showing they care for the local community this winter by giving back to local groups and charities. The initiative which launched early December saw our teams open their doors to various community groups offering hair and beauty treatments to help combat the cost of living crisis and make their members feel just a little bit special this festive season!

Beauty department support "Lisa's Gift"

Our Paisley Beauty department have organised a week long fundraising mission to help support local charity “Lisa’s Gift”. A full calendar of events was set up including bake sales, raffles, onsite massage, and our commercial salons offering advanced face and body treatments and gel polish treatments throughout the week with all class groups getting involved.

Local ladies, Ginny Thomson and Christine Gibson marked 26 years as long-standing clients of our Paisley Hair and Beauty Salon this month! Ginny & Christine both from Paisley, who the staff and students affectionately refer to as the “golden girls” have been getting pampered at the Renfrew Road campus since the mid 1990’s.

The Future Looks Bright for HNC Business Schools Group!

A group of school students have been taking their first steps in the world of business by completing their HNC Business as part of our Senior Phase Schools Programme. Attending 4 afternoons a week, the class is entirely made up of S6 pupil coming from two local authorities West Dunbartonshire which has Clydebank High pupils and Hermitage Academy pupils from Argyll and Bute.
