West College Scotland Signs Student Partnership Agreement

West College Scotland has formally signed a new Student Partnership Agreement (SPA), reinforcing its commitment to partnership working, shared responsibility and enhancing the overall student experience.

The agreement was signed yesterday by Principal Anne Campbell, alongside Freshta Qaderi, Student President for Greenock campus, Samantha Mason, Student President for Paisley campus, and Summer McCafferty, Student President for Clydebank campus.

The Student Partnership Agreement was developed collaboratively by staff and students, ensuring the document reflects a shared understanding of what partnership means in practice. By working together, staff and students have created an agreement that is relatable, meaningful and focused on collective responsibility for improving the student experience.

The SPA formalises the existing commitment between West College Scotland and the Students’ Association, with both parties agreeing to work in partnership to support and enhance learning, teaching and the wider student experience.

A strong emphasis is placed on ensuring that the student voice is represented throughout every aspect of the College. Both the College and the Students’ Association are committed to meaningful engagement with students and embedding their views in decision-making processes.

The agreement outlines four key priorities, aligned with the College’s strategic objectives, the Students’ Association operational plan and ongoing areas of continuous improvement. Collaboration is central to the SPA and underpins all activity undertaken by staff and students in delivering positive outcomes.

The signing of the Student Partnership Agreement represents our shared commitment to working collaboratively with students in shaping the quality of learning and teaching and all aspects of their college experience. By embedding partnership and collective responsibility at the heart of this agreement, we are ensuring that the student voice is central to our decision-making and supports continuous improvement across West College Scotland.

The Student Partnership Agreement reflects what can be achieved when students and staff work together in true partnership. It formalises our shared responsibility to ensure the student voice is heard, valued, and acted upon, and helps create a positive, inclusive experience for students across all campuses.
